Oil Prices

clock February 11, 2009 16:45 by author Walt

Hi Campers, One of my interest is following markets like the DOW, materials, commodities, and of course OIL!  This is a fascinating time in the world with markets just going nuts. One positive is the low Oil prices which have translated into low fuel prices. For you diesel pusher owners out there I know diesel prices make the world go around.

Well, at least you can afford driving coast to coast now. I have included a two year price chart for oil. Looks like the rocky mountains.  Slow rise on the western front and than a fast drop off on the eastern slopes.  Well...given we have the rest of the US to cover till we get to the appellation mountains we can expect fuel prices to stay at these levels. This is great news for RVers and families. A camping vacation has become a great value. Take a look at our hot deals to see if anything will fit your bill. We would love to see you this season. Safe travels.

Ciao!

Walt

Custer / Mount Rushmore Rainfall and Temperatures

clock February 2, 2009 15:52 by author Walt

Found a great link with average temperatures and rainfall. Interesting that there is not a lot of rain or snow in November, December, or January.

http://countrystudies.us/united-states/weather/south-dakota/custer.htm

Another thing to note is the great temperatures during the summer months. Not too hot....80s are the rule and nice evenings. Really great weather for campfires and day trips to all the attractions in the Mount Rushmore and Black Hills area.

Of course if you really want some constant weather you can visit one of the many caves in the area. Jewel Cave National Park and Wind Cave are within 15 minutes of our campground. These caves have a nice 40-50 degree temperature all the time and it does not change. These caves have great tours and it is fun to ride the elevators down the 200 to 300 feet into the depths of the cave.

For information on the caves visit these sites:

Jewel Cave

Wind Cave

That's all for now. Stay warm.
